The Final Trip

For our last week, we went to see an old (not ancient-at least not comparatively) lava flow. Then we got to go play in sand dunes. We finished up by going to the site of Jesse Knight's silver mines, and hearing the story that they played in the history of the church and of BYU. From the site, you can look across Utah Lake and see the Y above campus. A powerful ending note.

Little Cottonwood Canyon

This week we hiked up the back of Alta Ski Resort, after looking at temple granite and the church vaults. Overall, an absolutely wonderful week.

Timpanogos Caves

A hot, steep walk up the side of Timp culminated in a pleasant and eerie trip through the mountain.

Bingham Copper Mines and the Thanksgiving Point Dino Museum

We headed up to see the pretty colored rocks up Bingham Canyon closer up. Turns out they're junk rock. After seeing a giant hole in the ground, we went to Thanksgiving Point's awesome Dinosaur Museum.
Sorry these ones are sideways. I thought I'd fixed them. It takes a while to re-upload though, so I'll just let you figure it out.
